Do Not Give Up On Your Dreams!

3/27/2012

I want you to take a minute to think about what you really want. Not your needs, although a smart person like yourself keeps those on the horizon on a daily basis. But what I am talking about here is what you personally want out of life.

It could be as simple as changing your schedule to include a new hobbie. Taking some time out for a family activity that has been tossed to the side because of your ever increasing life style. Maybe you have decided that you need a change of pace because you no longer have any "free Time".  Or you feel locked into a job that feels more like torture because it offers zero fulfillment. Whatever it is, start today by writing down what would actually make you happy.

Take a realistic view of how to make it happen. Seeing is believing so when you write it down you are more apt to formulate the writing into the doing. Like so many other things that have to be done in life rush, rush, rush seems to be the word of the day. Don't rush through this.
Think deeply about what you want. This is about you and no one else for the moment.

Tapping into your own capabilities starts with knowing who you are.
We get so shrouded with family and career responsibilities that we forget about us as individuals. It's alright to take that time. Sometimes selfishness is a good thing when it helps you grow mentally, physically and spiritually.

You will find that writing things down becomes a promise you want to keep. Something you  must do in order to succeed and feel fulfilled. I am counting on you to make this happen. Setting goals for a better life. Making decisions to energize your well being. Writing down step by step what you want without getting caught up in time frames. That will come later as you see the need to make good on what you have written down.

Let me know how you are doing with your efforts. I know you can do this.

As promised, more writing tips are forthcoming. I just felt it was noteworthy to address this point as some have contacted me with excellent feedback on how they need to feel motivated when it comes to writing and making other lifestyle choices.
We will discuss more soon-

Also I have written a wonderful 50-page Motivational guide entitled, 'MOTIV8' in which I list out 8 simple steps to enhance your life and energize your bottom line. I know you will find it useful. It is on Amazon.com

Until next time-Desire to Inspire!

Patience Is A Virtue!

I have been writing for a very long time and there is one thing I can tell you for certain. When it comes to your writing efforts, give it some time.  I know, I know, you want fame and fortune with a snap of a finger. It just doesn't happen that way. First you need goals. You may think you have what it takes to be a true writer but there are factors to weigh in before taking such a big plunge.

Are you writing because you feel that you have something subtantial and sustaining for continued readership. Meaning, if what you write about is based on you wanting to build a larger audience, creating a niche might be the best way to start. If you are only interested in writing for friends, family or just for you then writing would be a hobby not a bonafide business for you. And that is fine, just know which you are truly interested in before you spend too much time and effort on something that will never hit the light of day, if that was your purpose.

Writing is a wonderful and rewarding way to reach your target audience. If you are already writing or plan on writing soon, write down some pros and cons as a way of outlining your writing success. Start with your writing genre. Suppose you have a passion for gardening. List out what types of articles you would like to write about in that field and narrow it down to a few favorites.

Once you have decided, let's say to write about tulips, do you want your audience to understand that you really like that particuliar flower? Great. Get some history going. Dig into what makes a tulip, a tulip. Find out fascinating characteristcs, fun facts, varieties, etc. You may find that you have more than enough material for several articles. Now you have the basis for writing niche material.

Including pictures are a plus too. Whether you plan on one subject or many though, do not limit yourself. The more research you do, you will see the more excited and knowledgeable you will become. Research is key even if you are not an expert in he field. Next, we will discuss winning ways to build your fanbase. Stay tuned!
