1. Do Not Become Charmed By Your Own Ego-
When you become overly absorbed in what is wrong and
only concentrate on the negative, the only person you are letting down is
yourself. Eventually, if not channeled correctly, this will have a trickle-down effect. So go easy on the “nothing is going right today” mantra. Work through issues and
problems without losing your sense of balance. Talk yourself through it or check
out a friend who can help keep you get centered. There is nothing wrong with asking for or seeking help.
2. Don’t Follow Me-Just Listen-
Good examples are great but listen to your own mind for support. You have the skill, reason and cognitive resources to make awesome decisions. Stop underestimating your abilities. If there is a subject of concern that you feel needs more research than by all means take a course, look for ways to educate yourself without breaking the bank or you will never resolve the learning curves.
3. Don’t Be A Fool-
Believing everything you see or hear can bring you to an all-time low or become overwhelming. Today, we are saturated with technology. Learn the difference between information and knowledge.
4. Stop Trying To Please Everyone-
It simply does not work. Not everyone you come in
contact with is going to be a friend, business associate or client. Get over it.
Understand that your assets are benefiting you first, then can be shared and
appreciated by those truly seeking them.
If some do not come running in your
direction, it really is ok. You do not have to be accepted by everyone the same
as you do not have to approve of everything that everyone else says, does or
wants. This is what separates us from the animals-free choice. There is a grand difference between preference and skillset. Don't create an unrealistic we
5. Keep Your Finger In The Ink Well Of Life-
Not every person is suited to remembering every
detail of every waking moment. Cherished memories should be kept in a journal or by creating snapshots, easily catalogued with our 21stcentury smartphones and androids. So get to snappin!
6. Build Confidence-
Self-esteem is not a hot commodity; it is in the
natural possession of all man despite insecurities, disabilities,
race or social status.
7. Roll With The Punches Without Getting Knocked Out-Or Injuring Others-
Standing your ground is a sure-fire way to gaining respect. Do not become
wishy-washy when you know you are right and the alternative is to be disrespected or ignored. There are times when it is best to keep silent or speak up-use discernment. Showing a mild-temper and responding in kind tends to keep tempers at bay and allows for clear thinking. You may just find that problems can be resolved quicker and without further incident. Otherwise wounds never heal.
8. Keep It Real-
You will always remember the truth, so keep it real. Enough said.
9. Feel Guilty Over The Right Issues-
Beating yourself over imperfections is not sensible. Learn to change bad
habits. When our conscience bothers us, instead of ignoring or brushing off as
juvenile, do a mental checklist to see where adjustments can be
made. Behaviors can be worked on and we are all a work in progress.
10. Enjoy The Day-
You deserve it! I know I do! Get out there and do
something constructive and fun with the time you are given each
day.
And a word of thanks to all for the many notes and emails of support! Keep 'em coming!
Until next time~
