Are you writing because you feel that you have something subtantial and sustaining for continued readership. Meaning, if what you write about is based on you wanting to build a larger audience, creating a niche might be the best way to start. If you are only interested in writing for friends, family or just for you then writing would be a hobby not a bonafide business for you. And that is fine, just know which you are truly interested in before you spend too much time and effort on something that will never hit the light of day, if that was your purpose.
Writing is a wonderful and rewarding way to reach your target audience. If you are already writing or plan on writing soon, write down some pros and cons as a way of outlining your writing success. Start with your writing genre. Suppose you have a passion for gardening. List out what types of articles you would like to write about in that field and narrow it down to a few favorites.
Once you have decided, let's say to write about tulips, do you want your audience to understand that you really like that particuliar flower? Great. Get some history going. Dig into what makes a tulip, a tulip. Find out fascinating characteristcs, fun facts, varieties, etc. You may find that you have more than enough material for several articles. Now you have the basis for writing niche material.
Including pictures are a plus too. Whether you plan on one subject or many though, do not limit yourself. The more research you do, you will see the more excited and knowledgeable you will become. Research is key even if you are not an expert in he field. Next, we will discuss winning ways to build your fanbase. Stay tuned!
