I wanted to share what aided me in attaining a successful life. Despite trials you can have and build hope on a dream. Making it worthwhile by actively participating in the process of learning, growing, achieving.
Invest In You
I had experienced success as a fictional writer, having previously written two books now on Amazon. While the goal to offer real anecdotes through comical real-life situations was informative and fun, I wanted to give more. After reading book after book outlining dialogue to commence a better life, I thought, yes, I can do this. I can show individuals what worked in real world terms. How I grew up under false pretenses because of my own misgivings. I shared my weight gain then subsequent weight loss because I finally got what had happened to me. The vindication of confirming my own self-worth was wildly empowering.
The reality of what I had to deal with was not only real but felt by
many who read related to my real-life drama. My third book, MOTIV8 proved that growth is possible no matter the background, creed or color. Diversity is a blessing
and since we do not share a brain, conceptual growth potential exists in every
one of us. You have it inside you to make your future bright. Analyze what this
will take out of you and work for you. What are your goals? How do you see
yourself? Others will only invest in what you project, so keep it real and on
track and others will be drawn to you and become willing to support your
efforts.
Research Starts At Home
Research yourself before tackling endless authorities on life. Don’t
get me wrong, there are many valuable gems to assist you in life. The
difference: when you invest in you, you look inside and understand your value.
You take the time to invest in you. Say this over and over again. INVEST IN YOU.
Write down what your thought-life requires. This will be based on realistic goals, wants and needs important to you. Above all else, do not give up. The road may seem long and hard to deal with but keep pushing through the challenges and disappointments. There is nothing wrong with needing to regroup or start over. This is your pace to set, your agenda, not someone else’s.
Don't Be Afraid Of Criticism
I wanted something to be different and slightly retro about my book covers. In addition to being inexpensive, it showed my creative side even though I am no Givenchy.
I also went with “by Dawn A. Harden, instead of just stating my name as author. It gives a nostalgic nod to many a book report from times past. I may decide to change it up but it works and I have never received one complaint about my choice. Not that it would change my mind unless it truly became a distraction to the contents of my written word. In the event that critic’s oppose, you decide how much to soak in or ignore. Some criticism can be constructive, however, be on guard that some will be destructive. Not everyone wants to see you soar. Expect this or your sensitivity will be your downfall.
Reality is based on us making dreams come true. Keep your head up!
