Giving The Business
Don't allow your business to become a sight for sore eyes because you lost control of it. Do a weekly check of the daily functions for fine tuning. Even if the business run like a well oiled machine check in with proper communication without micromanaging. A good reminder to staff of accountability and communication needs. Maintaining updated and honest bookkeeping paves success and not surprises. What you do not want is to have staff show up for work and be met by a chained link fence and note on the door.
Everyone enjoys a compliment now and again. Beating down your employees to keep up productivity is a costly mistake. Not only because you will run the crew away but with quick fire assurance all of the disgruntled quiet storms become raging bulls, ones unable to stop or reverse despite a good reputation. If you operate a small private business it may be extremely difficult to offer benefits packages and vacation but be honest about it. Some skim the truth and only after the employee is hooked on a steady paycheck do the details become clear. This experience has happened to countless individuals taken advantage of and it is absolutely unnecessary. Honest talks about what is actually on the table reduces tempers and work atmospheres. Look into affordable reward programs and put these in writing so there are no gray areas later.
Stop The Bravado
Courage is standing up handling unpleasant situations, decision making under pressure and taking on challenges coming along with the everyday. Not hiding out behind fake names on social media or undercutting others in networking venues. If you need business that badly get out while you still can because bad business practices will follow you into your next stop on the career train and for some there are no goods stops. Bad deeds preceding your appearance will diminish true qualities, stunting not stunning your audience. Once a bad taste is someone's mouth it is very hard to remove it. Distrust and distance follow. Your position should be clear firm and accurate.
Is honesty the best policy? Why is it even a question. You could be at risk of losing your dignity and footing with old friends partners and teams. Worst of all you risk losing yourself over nothing.
A true waste of talent, energy and future, for what.
Until next time~
